炸苏东 (Fried Calamari)


Ingredients:

  • Oil (for deep-frying)
  • 5-6 Clean Squid (cut into 0.5inch thick rings)
  • 1 McCormick Season'n Fry Crispy Chicken Coating Mix
  • 1 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 lemons, cut into wedges

For marinates:

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper

Methods:

  1. Marinate the squid with parsley, oregano, egg, salt and pepper for 15 minutes.
  2. Pour enough oil into a deep frying pan, heat the oil to 180C.
  3. Mix the flour, parsley, oregano and ground black pepper in a large bowl. 
  4. Toss the squid into the flour mixture to coat. Carefully add the squid to the oil and fry until crisp and very pale golden.
  5. Place the fried calamari and lemon wedges on a clean plate. Serve with the special chili sauce and seafood tartar sauce.


Simple Chili Sauce:

  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Fine Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Thai Chili Sauce

Methods:

  1. Add the chillies, garlic and salt into the food processor. Blend it smooth.
  2. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon Thai Chili Sauce, mix well.
